One written examination prepared by the Florida Department of Financial Services (or a person designated by the department), testing the applicant's ability and qualifications to be a bail bond agent; the scope of the examination is 'as broad as the bail bond business' (s. 648.38(8), F.S.). A single bounded exam — no separately published sections.
A Florida state licensing examination for the bail bond agent (limited surety agent, license class 2-34) under Chapter 648, Florida Statutes; s. 648.38 requires the examination to be held at a designated examination center in Florida and the applicant to appear in person.
Licensure application must be approved before testing (s. 648.38(1), F.S.); applicant must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and, within 2 years before applying, have completed a basic certification course in the criminal justice system of at least 120 classroom hours with a grade of 80% or higher plus a department-approved correspondence course for bail bond agents (s. 648.34, F.S.); photo ID and fingerprints required
Limit of five examination attempts for the same license type in any rolling 12-month period; a failed applicant may reapply but not within 30 days of denial (s. 648.38(9), F.S.); missed appointments must be rescheduled with Pearson VUE and the fee is charged again
