Michigan Property and Casualty Producer/Solicitor (Series 16-81)
The Michigan property and casualty producer/solicitor combined licensing examination (Series 16-81) is the state insurance exam candidates must pass for a Michigan property and casualty producer license; it is sponsored by the Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), delivered by PSI Services LLC at test centers only, and consists of 150 items in 2.5 hours with a 74% cut score.

Exam structure
One 150-item exam across ten content sections: Insurance Regulation (15 items, 10%), General Insurance (16, 10.5%), Property and Casualty Insurance Basics (30, 20%), Dwelling Policy (4, 2.5%), Homeowners Policy (22, 15%), Automobile Insurance (22, 15%), Commercial Package Policy (18, 12%), Businessowners Policy (9, 6%), Workers' Compensation Insurance (8, 5%), and Other Coverages and Options (6, 4%); item types are multiple-choice delivered one question at a time on computer.

Eligibility
The combined Property & Casualty Producer/Solicitor exam (16-81) requires successful completion of pre-licensing education with a certificate of completion (valid 12 months) before testing; results are invalidated without it
Retake policy
No same-day reappointment after testing; earliest retest is two days after a failed attempt depending on space availability; candidates who passed and need to retake within one year must obtain DIFS permission
