Maine administers Property and Casualty BOTH as one combined producer licensing examination (exam code 12-ME-03, the row's identity) and as separate single-line Property (12-ME-43) and Casualty (12-ME-44) examinations. The combined 12-ME-03 examination is a 157-question, 3-hour-30-minute Pearson VUE-delivered computer-based examination with a scaled passing score of 70, sponsored by the Maine Bureau of Insurance; passing it qualifies a producer applicant for both the property and casualty lines of authority in one sitting.

One 157-question multiple-choice examination combining both lines, delivered in three scored parts: Property general knowledge (50 scoreable + 5 pretest), Casualty general knowledge (50 scoreable + 5 pretest), and a Maine-specific state laws and rules section common to property and casualty (40 scoreable + 7 pretest)
This is the Maine state insurance producer licensing examination for the combined property and casualty lines of authority; its Maine-Specific Content Outline section tests Maine law (Title 24-A of the Maine Revised Statutes) and passing qualifies the applicant for a Maine producer license
No prelicensing education hours are required by Maine for the producer examination; candidates must create their Pearson VUE web account with their legal name matching government-issued ID before reserving
No stated attempt limit; reexamination reservations are not made at the test center and candidates must wait one day after testing before scheduling a reexamination, paying the examination fee for each attempt
