One 150-item combined-line exam (not separate Property and Casualty exams): Insurance Regulation (20%), General Insurance Concepts (8%), Property and Casualty Insurance Basics (14%), Dwelling Policy Concepts (4%), Homeowners Policy Concepts (7%), Personal Automobile Policy (10%), Commercial Automobile Policy (5%), Commercial Property Policies (7%), Commercial General Liability (7%), Commercial Crime (2%), Businessowners Policy — Property (3%), Workers' Compensation Insurance (5%), and Other Types of Property and Casualty Insurance (8%). All items are multiple choice with four options.
Exam is the Pennsylvania state licensing examination for the property and casualty line of authority under the Pennsylvania Insurance Company Law (40 P.S.); passing it is required before applying to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department for a producer license
Complete a state-approved prelicensing education course and register via the Pennsylvania Insurance Department portal before scheduling
No limit on the number of attempts for candidates who fail; the full USD 55.00 exam fee applies to each retake and candidates must wait at least 24 hours before scheduling the next attempt
