Exam structure
Single computer-based exam: 125 scored + 10 pretest multiple-choice items covering Property sections (types of policies 22; insurance terms and related concepts 15; policy provisions and contract law 13) and Casualty sections (types of policies, bonds, and related terms 23; plus casualty terms, provisions, and Georgia rules sections completing the 125 scored items across property-only and casualty-only Georgia rules)
Where rules vary
Georgia resident insurance producer licensing examination covering the Property and Casualty lines of authority, which Georgia licenses only together.
Eligibility
For licensure: 16-hour Georgia Property and Casualty prelicensing course (the individual Property course and Casualty course are 8 hours each), license application via Sircon with $120 license fee, electronic fingerprints, and notarized Citizenship Affidavit; Property and Casualty must both be selected on the application. Waiver of prelicensing course and exam possible for CPCU designees or holders of an active same-lines license in a prior home state who apply within 90 days of relocating.
Retake policy
A new exam may be scheduled within one day of a failed attempt, but retests require a 14-day wait after attempts one and two and 60 days after the third and subsequent attempts; no limit on attempts
