One 150-item combined-line exam across 13 domains with outline weights: Insurance Regulation (21%), General Insurance Concepts (7%), Life/Accident/Health Basics (14%), Types of Life Insurance Policies (8%), Life Policy Provisions/Options/Riders (13%), Annuities (9%), Individual A&H Policy Provisions (7%), Disability Income and Related Insurance (4%), Medical Plans (4%), Group Health Insurance (3%), Dental Insurance (1%), Health Insurance for Seniors and Special Needs Individuals (7%), Federal Tax Considerations for L&H Insurance (2%)

Where rules vary

Exam is the Pennsylvania state licensing examination for the combined Life, Accident and Health line of authority under the Pennsylvania Insurance Company Law (40 P.S.); passing it is required before applying to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department for a producer license

Eligibility

Complete a state-approved prelicensing education course and register via the Pennsylvania Insurance Department portal before scheduling (same requirements as the Property and Casualty line)

Retake policy

No limit on the number of attempts after failing; full USD 55.00 fee applies to each retake; candidates may retest as soon as the next business day after results post, depending on space availability
