One 165-question computer-based exam (150 scored) covering two blocks. General knowledge (67% of scored content): Types of Life Policies and Features (10%), Life Policy Riders, Provisions, Options, and Exclusions (10%), Completing the Life Application, Underwriting, and Delivering the Policy (8%), Retirement and Other Life Insurance Concepts (5%), Types of Health Policies (11%), Health Policy Provisions, Clauses, and Riders (10%), Social Insurance (4%), Other Health Insurance Concepts (4%), and Field Underwriting Procedures (5%). Florida Statutes, Rules, and Regulations (33%): Common to All Lines (13%), Pertinent to Life and Annuity Insurance including Variable Products (10%), and Pertinent to Health Insurance (10%). 15 pretest questions are unscored.

Eligibility
No Department pre-authorization required for this exam (only Bail Bond candidates need an Examination Authorization Notice). For Florida resident licensure: at least 18 years of age, a US citizen or legal alien with work authorization and a bona fide Florida resident, and a fingerprint submission via Live Scan; the license application and fees are submitted after passing
Retake policy
Candidates who fail must rebook with Pearson VUE and pay the fee again (fees non-refundable and non-transferable); limit of five examination attempts for the same examination type during any 12-month period; reservations must be changed or canceled at least 48 hours in advance or the fee is forfeited
