Wound Care Certified (WCC) Examination
The WCC certification examination is the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy's (NAWCO) NCCA-accredited specialty certification exam for licensed wound care practitioners (nursing, therapy, and medicine disciplines). It is an objective multiple-choice test of up to 110 questions (100 scored) with a total testing time of two hours, offered in computerized format at Prometric-managed test centers, via live remote proctoring, or as a proctored paper-and-pencil administration; the scaled passing score is 600 on a 100–800 scale.

One multiple-choice exam of up to 110 items (100 scored) across seven weighted content domains: Assessment (27%), Treatment (25%), Re-Evaluation (16%), Education (7%), Administration (7%), Legal (6%), and Risk and Prevention (12%)
Where rules vary
The WCC certification is based on U.S. practice (eligibility requires an active unrestricted U.S.-professional license), but international candidates who meet the eligibility requirements may apply, and Prometric operates test sites for the exam in the United States and other countries.
Eligibility
Active unrestricted license as RN, LPN/LVN, NP, PT, PTA, OT, OTA, DPM, MD/DO, or PA; plus one education option (20+ hour skin and wound management course, or current WOCNCB CWCN/CWON/CWOCN or ABWM CWS/CWSP certification) and one experience option (120 hours of hands-on clinical training with an approved preceptor, or 2 years full-time / 4 years part-time wound care experience); agree to NAWCO Code of Ethics
Retake policy
Up to four attempts within two years of course completion (or of eligibility), whichever comes first; no waiting period between first and second attempts, 30-day waits between second/third and third/fourth attempts; re-examination fee USD 350 per attempt
