Speech-Language Pathology (5331)
The Praxis Speech-Language Pathology (5331) test is a 132-question, 150-minute selected-response examination required for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and for state licensure of speech-language pathologists. It is owned and administered by ETS, with content developed under a practice analysis commissioned by ASHA.

Exam structure
132 selected-response questions divided across three content categories, each with approximately 44 questions (33⅓% of the examination): (I) Foundations and Professional Practice; (II) Screening, Assessment, Evaluation, and Diagnosis; (III) Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation of Treatment. Questions apply knowledge across the 'big nine' areas of practice: speech sound production; fluency; voice, resonance, and motor speech; receptive and expressive language; social aspects of communication including pragmatics; cognitive aspects of communication; augmentative and alternative communication; hearing; and feeding and swallowing.

The exam itself is uniform nationwide; passing scores for licensure/credentialing are set by each state or agency (most adopt the ASHA score of 162)
Eligibility
No formal prerequisite enforced by ETS; the test is typically taken by examinees who are in or who have completed a master's degree program, and ASHA recommends taking it no earlier than completion of graduate coursework and clinical practicum
