The Georgia state agency, headed by the elected Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, that licenses and regulates insurance companies and agents, investigates insurance fraud, and inspects buildings for fire safety. It sets the passing scores for the Georgia insurance licensing examinations, which are administered by Pearson VUE under the program name Georgia Insurance (client code GAINS).
