Where rules vary
CAMICB brands the CMCA as an international certification delivered worldwide, and its December 2024 blueprint revision removed U.S.-specific references to make the exam globally applicable; the FAQ separately describes the program's 1995 origin as a U.S. 'national, voluntary certification program'. Exam content is uniform worldwide.
Eligibility
One of: (1) pass an approved prerequisite course on community association management; (2) at least two years' experience as a community association manager (one-time waiver; prerequisite course required before retaking if failed); (3) hold an approved active license or credential (e.g., Arizona CAAM, California CCAM, Florida CAM, Illinois CAM, Nevada CAM)
Retake policy
Retake application plus USD 200 fee; no mandated waiting period and no cap on attempts; three exam forms rotated so a form repeats only on a fourth attempt within 12 months
