Hawaii Real Estate Salesperson Examination
The Hawaii Real Estate Salesperson Examination is the two-portion computer-based licensing exam (80-item uniform/general portion plus 50-item Hawaii state portion) administered by PSI Services LLC under contract with the Hawaii Real Estate Commission; salesperson candidates need at least 70% to pass, must be preapproved after uploading a Hawaii prelicense course completion certificate, and must pass both portions within two years of the first passed section to qualify for a Hawaii salesperson license.

Questions130 scored questions (130 points) for the salesperson exam taken as a combo: Uniform (General) portion 80 questions (80 points) plus State portion 50 questions (50 points); in addition a small number (5 to 10) of unscored "experimental" questions may be administered

Two closed-book computer-delivered portions: a Uniform (General) portion (80 items, 150 minutes) covering Property Ownership, Land use Controls, Valuation, Financing, Contracts, Agency, Property Disclosures, Property Management, Transfer of Title, Practice of Real Estate, and Real Estate Calculations; and a Hawaii State portion (50 items, 90 minutes) covering Ascertaining and Disclosing Material Facts (8 items), Types of Ownership (4), Property Management (5), Land Utilization (3), Title and Conveyances (6), Contracts (5), Financing (2), Escrow Process and Closing Statements (3), and Professional Practices and Conduct (14); 5 to 10 unscored experimental questions may be mixed in

A single Hawaii salesperson examination (uniform/general portion plus Hawaii state portion) used statewide; delivered at PSI test centers in Hawaii (Honolulu, Kapaa, Kahului, Kailua Kona) and at other PSI centers across the United States, plus remote proctoring.
Eligibility
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of examination; be a United States citizen, United States national, or alien authorized to work in the United States; have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent; have completed the Hawaii prelicense course and upload an unexpired Hawaii School Completion Certificate or an ORIGINAL Prelicensing Education Equivalency Certificate (effective 12/10/25 certificates must be uploaded and approved by PSI, reviewed within 3 business days, before scheduling)
Retake policy
No published attempt limit; candidates may not book a new appointment on the same day as testing (score processing) but can call the next day and retest as soon as the following day depending on space availability; only the failed section must be retaken within two years of the first passed section, otherwise both sections must be retaken; retake fee USD 61
