Connecticut Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Examination
The Connecticut Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Examination is the two-portion computer-based licensing exam (national/general portion plus Connecticut state portion) administered by PSI under contract with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection; candidates must be preapproved by DCP after completing a 60-hour Real Estate Principles and Practices course, must score at least 70% to pass, and passing both portions within one year of eligibility qualifies the candidate to activate a Connecticut salesperson license.

QuestionsTwo portions totaling 115 scored questions for the Salesperson exam: national/general portion 80 questions (80 points) and Connecticut state portion 35 questions (35 points); the bulletin's summary table prints the 'Both' row as 110 questions (115 points), which conflicts with its own 80+35 portion rows; in addition five to ten unscored 'experimental' questions may be administered
Testing time165 minutes for both portions taken together: national/general portion 120 minutes plus state portion 45 minutes; the 15-minute introductory tutorial does not count as examination time, and time spent on unscored experimental questions does not count against examination time

Two closed-book computer-delivered portions: a national/general portion (80 questions) covering Property Ownership, Land use Controls, Valuation, Financing, Contracts, Agency, Property Disclosures, Property Management, Transfer of Title, Practice of Real Estate, and Real Estate Calculations; and a Connecticut state portion (35 questions: 7 licensing requirements, 11 laws governing licensee activities, 9 real estate agency, 8 Connecticut-specific laws); five to ten unscored experimental questions may be mixed in

Eligibility

Unlimited attempts for up to one year from the date of eligibility; both portions must be passed within one year of eligibility or the candidate must reapply with DCP; a new appointment cannot be made on the same day as a failed attempt, and retake fees are USD 51
