The EXIN EPI Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) is EXIN's foundation-level, closed-book multiple-choice examination (40 questions, 60 minutes, 68% pass mark) on the key components of high-availability data centres, taken after mandatory EPI/EXIN-accredited training; the certificate is valid for three years before recertification is required.

40 multiple-choice items in one closed-book sitting (no electronic equipment allowed, open book: No), covering the CDCP syllabus's three main subjects — Facilities, Operations, and Management: data centre importance and downtime causes, standards and best practices (incl. ANSI/TIA-942), location/building/construction, raised floor and ceiling, light, electrical power infrastructure, EMF, equipment racks, cooling infrastructure, water supply, scalable network infrastructure and structured cabling, fire safety/protection, physical security and safety, and auxiliary/monitoring systems (EMS, BMS, DCIM)
Worldwide vendor certification: EXIN certifies globally with 450+ partners and one uniform exam specification; the preparation guide notes courses are available in over 60 countries and the certificate is internationally accredited and recognized
Training is mandatory: the exam is taken after an EXIN-accredited CDCP course (2-day course delivered as ILT, VILT, or TOD by an EPI Certified Instructor), with the required reading being the course material provided by the trainer; no formal prerequisites exist for the course itself, though 1-2 years of data centre/facilities experience is recommended
