Computerized adaptive exam of 100-125 multiple-choice and advanced item types across five domains: Security Principles (24%), Security Governance (17.3%), Identity And Access Management (IAM) Concepts (20%), Networking and Cloud Security Concepts (21.3%), and Security Operations and Incident Response (17.3%)

Where rules vary

Worldwide vendor certification exam offered at Pearson VUE testing centers globally; ISC2 notes it must comply with U.S. and international trade restrictions that can limit transactions with candidates in affected nations.

Eligibility

None — no work experience, education or other prerequisites required to sit the exam; endorsement by an ISC2 certified professional is only needed after passing, as part of certification

Retake policy

30 test-free days after the first attempt, 60 after the second, 90 after the third and each subsequent retake; up to 4 attempts within a 12-month period
