Data Management Fundamentals (DMF) Exam

DAMA International's CDMP certification is based on passing the Data Management Fundamentals (DMF) exam — 100 multiple-choice, open-book questions in 90 minutes (110 minutes for the ESL version), online via Honorlock proctoring, available 24/7 — testing the DAMA-DMBOK2 across 14 topics (Data Governance, Data Modelling and Design, Data Quality, and Metadata Management at 11% each, Master and Reference Data Management and Data Warehousing/BI at 10% each, and eight other areas at 2–6%). Fee USD 311; retakes USD 200 + USD 11 proctor fee. The pass threshold on the same DMF paper sets the certification level: 60% Associate, 70% Practitioner (plus 2 specialist exams), 80% Master (plus 2 specialist exams and 10+ years experience). Exams are presented in English only.

Eligibility

No experience required to take the exams (Associate: none; Practitioner guideline 2–10 years; Master requires minimum 10 years plus CV review); industry experience figures are guidelines except at Master level

Retake policy

Unlimited retakes; each retake purchased separately at USD 200 + USD 11 proctor fee; the highest pass mark is the one retained; retake must match the originally purchased exam version (Standard vs ESL)
