Exam structure

One 50-question exam whose blueprint assigns question percentages across nine domains: Understanding Business Analysis 20%; Mindset for Effective Business Analysis 14%; Implementing Business Analysis 6%; and 10% each for Change, Need, Solution, Stakeholder, Value, and Context (domains 1-3 from The Business Analysis Standard; domains 4-9 from the BABOK Guide's Business Analysis Core Concept Model)

Where rules vary

A single worldwide certification exam offered by an international professional association with no country-specific variants; IIBA describes the ECBA as a globally recognized certification and delivers it online worldwide via remote proctoring.

Eligibility

None beyond agreeing to IIBA's certification policies, terms, and Code of Ethical Conduct and Professional Standards during the exam purchase process — no work-experience, education, or professional-development-hour requirement is published for the current ECBA (IIBA's roadmap 'Before You Start' page lists only the policy-agreement eligibility)

Retake policy

Failed attempts may be rewritten by purchasing an exam rewrite (USD 95; USD 250 for non-members per the certification fees page — the rewrite fee is not included in the initial exam fee); no waiting period or attempt limit is published
