At least one test per trainee, administered by the department's Evaluation and Follow-up Branch, covering the subjects of the approved basic training course (penal law and criminal procedure; the private security services law and its implementing decisions; report writing; premises security; first aid; firefighting and civil defence; security work ethics; cash transport and storage services; physical education and shooting). The basic course itself must run at least 40 hours over four weeks at an accredited training centre, with a 16-hour renewal course for licence renewal; this packet records the TEST, whose internal structure (item types, sections) is not published.
Test applies to private security guards throughout the State of Qatar under Law No. 19 of 2009, which governs the practice of private security services nationwide; the MOI department administers the same basic-course test regime for all trainees.
To work as a private security individual in Qatar the candidate must be at least 18, of good conduct, free of serious convictions, pass the medical examination set by the Minister, and pass a training course at one of the accredited training centres designated by the licensing authority (exempt: former police or Qatari armed forces or other state security services personnel); the test is taken at the end of the basic course
The department schedules second-round (retake) tests for trainees who fail; no attempt limit or waiting period is published
