One exam of approximately 225 four-option multiple-choice items (200 scored + 25 pretest) across seven domains: Security Principles and Practices (22%), Business Principles and Practices (15%), Investigations (9%), Personnel Security (11%), Physical Security (16%), Information Security (14%), Crisis Management (13%)

Not tied to any one country: the CPP page calls the credential 'internationally recognized' and the handbook states 'ASIS exams are offered at Prometric test centers throughout the world or through Prometric's ProProctor platform'; a Spanish-language exam form is offered alongside English
Eligibility
Experience/education eligibility with at least 3 years in responsible charge of a security function: no degree — 7 years security experience (6 with an APP); master's degree — 5 years (4 with an APP); bachelor's degree — 6 years (5 with an APP); plus full-time employment in a security-related role, no criminal conviction reflecting negatively on the security profession/ASIS/the program, and agreement to the ASIS Certification Code of Conduct and handbook policies
Retake policy
Up to 3 attempts within the one-year eligibility period, with 60 days between testing dates; after a third failure or expiry of eligibility, a new certification application is required; retest fee USD 480 (Emerging Market 1 USD 360 / Emerging Market 2 USD 330), nonrefundable
