The Residential Building Inspector (B1) is the International Code Council's national certification exam for inspectors of one- and two-family dwellings, townhomes not more than three stories, and accessory structures: a 60-question, 2-hour, open-book multiple-choice test on the International Residential Code, offered in 2021 and 2024 code-year editions and delivered via ICC's PRONTO proctored online testing option.
