FAST Grade 3 Mathematics
FAST Grade 3 Mathematics is Florida's statewide, computer-adaptive mathematics assessment for grade 3 students, aligned to the B.E.S.T. Standards and administered three times per school year (PM1, PM2, PM3) as part of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking progress monitoring system run by the Florida Department of Education.

Testing time80 minutes for PM1 and PM2; 100 minutes for PM3 — administered in one session in one day; students still actively working at the end of the session length may be provided the time needed, up to the end of the school day
ScoringNo pass/fail rule for grade 3 Mathematics: students receive an overall scale score on the B.E.S.T. scale and one of five achievement levels; Achievement Level 3 indicates On Grade Level performance. Grade 3 Mathematics level ranges: Level 1 140-182, Level 2 183-197, Level 3 198-208, Level 4 209-224, Level 5 225-260. (PM1/PM2 results are informational only; PM3 is used for school accountability. The grade-3 promotion rule applies to the ELA Reading assessment, not Mathematics.)

Exam structure
One computer-adaptive session of 35-40 items across four reporting categories, each 23-29% of the test: Number Sense and Additive Reasoning; Number Sense and Multiplicative Reasoning; Fractional Reasoning; and Geometric Reasoning, Measurement, and Data Analysis and Probability. Items are traditional multiple choice plus technology-enhanced types: Editing Task Choice, Selectable Hot Text, Multiselect, Graphic Response Item Display (GRID), Equation Editor, Matching Item, Fraction Model Item, and Graphing Item. Students must be provided blank scratch paper; no calculator is provided for grade 3.
