National Board for Respiratory Care

The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, is the not-for-profit credentialing body for respiratory care whose NCCA-accredited examinations are written and developed by committees of credentialed respiratory therapists, pulmonary function technologists, and pulmonologists and are administered by computer at PSI testing locations; the CRT and RRT credentials are used as the basis for licensure in all 49 U.S. states that regulate respiratory care.
