Saudi Nursing Licensure Examination (SNLE)
The SNLE is the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties' licensure examination for nurses: a computer-based exam of 200 four-option single-best-answer MCQs (up to 10% unscored pilot items), delivered in two blocks of 100 questions with 120 minutes per block and a scheduled 30-minute break, at SCFHS-approved Prometric testing centers in Saudi Arabia and internationally during ~12 testing windows per year. Content follows a four-section blueprint (Nursing Fundamentals 20%, Adult Nursing 40%, Maternal-Child Nursing 30%, Nursing Management and Leadership 10%, +/-5% tolerance). Passing score is 500 on a 200-800 reporting scale. It is one bounded exam for the nursing profession — a sibling of SCFHS's other per-profession licensure exams (SMLE medicine, SPLE pharmacy, SDLE dental, SLLE laboratory, SRCLE respiratory care, SRTLE radiology technology) — not a family of per-specialty nursing exams.

Exam structure
One computer-based exam in two blocks of 100 four-option single-best-answer MCQs, mixing recall questions and scenario questions testing interpretation, analysis, decision-making, reasoning and problem-solving; blueprint sections: Nursing Fundamentals 20%, Adult Nursing 40%, Maternal-Child Nursing 30%, Nursing Management and Leadership 10% (distributions may differ by up to +/-5% per section)
Where rules vary
National licensure examination required for professional practice as a nurse in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; administered in defined testing windows at Prometric centers in Saudi Arabia and internationally (foreign-trained candidates can test abroad, but the credential applies to Saudi practice).
Eligibility
Recognized primary degree (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited health science program, or commenced training during the internship year, or a student within one year of graduation (Saudi university/college students can sit the SNLE during the final year of undergraduate studies); application via Mumaris+ issues a scheduling permit with an eligibility period
Retake policy
Up to four attempts per year (starting from the first attempt) for candidates seeking a passing score; SCFHS classification and registration rules apply to candidates who fail for two years after graduation. SCFHS attempts mechanism: pass on first attempt grants two improvement attempts; a first-attempt failure grants two additional attempts; attempts may be repeated after one year from the first attempt in case of failure. After passing, candidates are eligible for two further improvement attempts, then one improvement attempt annually
