Multiple-choice-only module examination (no essay); each question has three alternative answers with exactly one correct answer; content bounded by the Appendix I Module 1 syllabus — Arithmetic (1.1), Algebra (1.2) and Geometry (1.3) — examined at knowledge level 1 or 2 depending on licence category
The Part-66 examination standard applies uniformly across the EU Member States; via the EEA Agreement and the Swiss bilateral, the same EASA rules also apply in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Actual exam administration is by EASA-approved Part-147 organisations and the national competent authorities in those states.
None published at module level beyond applying for an aircraft maintenance licence; completion of an approved basic training course can substitute for experience requirements (66.A.30) but is not required to sit module examinations
A failed module may not be retaken for at least 90 days (30 days after a tailored retraining course at a Part-147 organisation); maximum three consecutive attempts per module, with further sets of three allowed after a 1-year waiting period
