Where rules vary
A U.S. professional credential: the exam content outline is built on U.S. payer and regulatory frameworks (EMTALA, CMS/HIPAA, ABN, MSP, Condition Code 44), and NAHAM is a U.S.-based association; the exam is uniform and offered to any qualifying candidate during four testing windows.
Eligibility
One year of healthcare or finance experience OR completion of an accredited college healthcare program (2- or 4-year); letter of support from a supervisor OR 10 professional development contact hours within the last 12 months; one reference signature (supervisor or course instructor/advisor, not the proctor)
Retake policy
May retake as many times as desired, but only once per testing window; discounted retake (USD 100) available only in the immediate next window and only if full price was paid for the most recent attempt
