Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) Examination
The Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) Examination is the specialty board certification exam of the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) for experienced, mastery-level paramedics working in flight and/or critical care transport: a 135-question exam (110 scored, 25 unscored) in two timed sections totaling 2.5 hours, delivered by computer at Prometric test centers, by remote proctoring, by mobile exam delivery, or on paper, with a raw passing score of 73 correct answers.

Exam structure
One 135-question certification examination in two locked sections — Section 1: 68 items in 75 minutes (no return to these questions after completion), optional 5-minute break, Section 2: 67 items in 75 minutes — with all 110 scored and 25 unscored items presented in random order across the sections; a brief survey follows while the exam is scored; an on-screen simple calculator is provided with each question (personal calculators not allowed)
Where rules vary
The FP-C is a U.S.-origin specialty certification open to paramedics licensed in any 'state or country of practice'; eligibility places no country restriction, the exam is one uniform English-language form set, and it is delivered internationally through Prometric's test center network (with mobile exam delivery hosted internationally as well). It is not a government-issued license in any jurisdiction.
Eligibility
Hold an unrestricted license or certificate to practice as a paramedic (in the state or country of practice), complete an approved online examination application, and submit the paramedic license/certification for verification before scheduling; recommended (not required): 3 years of critical care/air transport experience, 6–12 months of self-study, and a review course
Retake policy
A candidate may attempt the same examination up to three (3) times using the 30-calendar-day rule; retest registration may be made for a date 30 days after the last testing date with full registration fees applying; exam fees are non-refundable
