12 timed subtests: Verbal Analogies (25 items/8 min), Arithmetic Reasoning (25/29), Word Knowledge (25/5), Math Knowledge (25/22), Reading Comprehension (25/24), Situational Judgment (16/35), Self-Description Inventory (240/45, ungraded personality items), Physical Science (20/10), Table Reading (40/7), Instrument Comprehension (25/5), Block Counting (30/5), Aviation Information (20/8), with a 15-minute break mid-test.
Where rules vary
The AFOQT is a U.S. Air Force commissioning requirement applied uniformly across accession sources (AFROTC, OTS, ANG, AFR, USAFA).
Eligibility
Candidates must first contact an Air Force recruiter or base test control officer, who checks background and eligibility and issues the scheduling voucher
Retake policy
At least 90 days between attempts; three test administrations authorized with the third requiring a waiver from the appropriate commissioning-source authority
