The WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits is an intermediate-level spirits and aromatised-wines qualification (Ofqual-regulated, qualification number 600/1507/X) assessed by a one-hour closed-book examination of 50 multiple-choice questions with a 55% pass mark, delivered worldwide through WSET Approved Programme Providers (APPs), in person or by online Remote Invigilation, in six published languages.

One closed-book theory paper: 50 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each) weighted across four learning outcomes — LO1: 15 questions, LO2: 23, LO3: 8, LO4: 4 (total 50 marks); answers indicated on a computer-readable answer sheet or a computer/device depending on delivery mode
WSET is an Ofqual-recognised UK awarding organisation, but the qualification and its examination are offered worldwide through 800+ Approved Programme Providers in over 70 countries; the specification is the same globally (though delivered in different languages)
No entry requirements or prior-knowledge restrictions; candidates must be over the legal minimum age for retail purchase of alcohol in the country where the exam is held (or preparing as part of a recognised full-time programme of study, or have parental/guardian consent); the course (not just the exam) must be taken with an APP — self-study is not possible
Unlimited resits for unsuccessful candidates; candidates who have passed may not retake to improve their grade. At WSET School London a £25 admin fee applies to exam transfers/cancellations with 12+ working days' notice; within 12 working days the full exam fee is payable
