AQIF is IBFIM's core-level Islamic finance qualification: a five-module programme (plus a preparatory class) that culminates in one final assessment — a 100-question multiple-choice remote online examination of 2 hours 30 minutes with a 60% passing mark. It is step 1 (core) of IBFIM's three-level Islamic Finance Qualifications Framework leading toward the Certified Qualification in Islamic Finance (CQIF).

One final assessment (100 multiple-choice questions, 2.5 hours) at the end of a five-module fundamental-level programme: M1 Philosophy and Fundamentals of Shariah for Islamic Finance (14 hrs online / 2 days F2F), M2 Application of Shariah in Islamic Finance (14 hrs / 2 days), M3 Ethics in Islamic Finance (7 hrs / 1 day), M4 Legal Aspects and Governance for Islamic Finance (7 hrs / 1 day), M5 Islamic Finance Architecture (14 hrs / 2 days), plus a 4-hour online / 0.5-day preparatory class before the assessment
A Malaysian professional qualification in Islamic finance issued by IBFIM, a Kuala Lumpur-based institute; the programme covers Malaysia's regulatory framework and is open to both local and international participants, with IBFIM-recognised Learning Centres in Malaysia and abroad (e.g. TYC Finance Limited, Hong Kong).
Entry requirement: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / O-Level (see notes for the attendance requirement)
Unlimited attempts; a failed or missed attempt requires joining another examination session and paying another examination fee; non-attendance is marked as absent
